Thingol is a character from a number of JRR Tolkien's books, such as The Lord of the Rings and The Silmarillion, just to name two. He was the king of Doriath, of which Menegroth was his palace, a great expanse of caverns crafted by the dw arves, it's name meaning the thousand caves. Thingol himself had silver hair and was the tallest of all the elves. To truly appreciate the tale, you should read it in The Silmarillion. Regrettably, I have no images of Thingol, or I'd paste o ne in here. JRR Tolkien is by far my favorite author, and I consider his works to be foundational to what we call fantasy literature today. I would stongly recommend them to anyone who is interested in fantasy literature who hasn't read them, particularly The Hobbit and The Lord of The Rings.
I'd put more in, but then my page would be full of links...:)
